Marketplace Roundup: Swiss Football League Signs With Engelbert Strauss

The Swiss Football League (DFL) named Engelbert Strauss an official sponsor. The company, which manufactures workwear and work safety gear, will receive brand visibility across the top two professional divisions in Switzerland. The partnership is "effective immediately." The deal was mediated by InfrontRingier Sports & Entertainment Switzerland (SOCCEREX, 9/14). ... German Hockey League (DEL) side Dusseldorf EG agreed to a new main and shirt sponsorhip deal with tool manufacturer Völkel. As part of the three-year deal, the company's logo will be featured on the jersey as well as on ad space in camera view (DEG). ... A-League side Western Sydney Wanderers announced a three-year extension of its partnership with Western Sydney University. The partnership will continue to show the Wanderers' dedication to education programs as well as the front of shirt sponsorship of the Wanderers Westfield W-League team (Western Sydney Wanderers). ... The regional South Asian Football Federation Championship secured its first ever title sponsor and this year's edition will be named the SAFF Suzuki Cup 2015. The SAFF announced on Monday that Suzuki Motor Corp. will support the ninth edition of the premier regional competition in the Indian city of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, from Dec. 23-Jan. 3 (TIMES OF INDIA, 9/14). ... Indian Super League side Chennaiyin FC renewed its relationship with real estate firm Ozone "as the principal sponsor of the club for two more years" (PTI, 9/13). ... U.K. sporting promoter Matchroom sports announced that bookmaker Dafabet will be the title sponsor of the 2015 World Cup of Pool, to be hosted from Sept. 22-27 at York Hall Bethnal Green (East London) (SBC NEWS, 9/14).
