Media Notes: FIBA, Twitter Partner To Offer Fans Opportunity To Ask Questions

FIBA and Twitter will provide fans access to players right after the games during the final phase of the 2015 FIBA Americas Championship and EuroBasket 2015. Fans are encouraged to come up with questions. At each press conference of both continental championships, one fan's question will be asked in real time to a player from the winning team (FIBA). ... Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet provided "free coverage" of this weekend’s matches from Italy’s Serie A and Spain’s La Liga competitions. Sportbladet.se, the newspaper’s sports website, streamed "all 20 games taking place across the two leagues after agreeing a one-off deal with the MP & Silva agency" (SOCCEREX, 9/13). ... The Premier League will "enhance the protection of its live broadcasts with the appointment of Friend MTS to assist in the protection of streams on OTT and TV Everywhere streams worldwide." Through its global Internet monitoring system, and network forensics capability, Friend MTS "will identify where security weaknesses are being exploited, and the Premier League notified" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 9/11). ... Barcelona-based sports publication Sport's website, SPORT.es, will this season offer summaries of La Liga and Copa del Rey games. Sport reached an agreement with the Spanish Football League (LFP) and Movistar+ to acquire the rights to these 30-second summaries, which will be offered at the conclusion of each matchday (Sport).
