League Notes: Rajasthan High Court Approves Of BCCI Selection Committees

The Jaipur bench of the Rajasthan High Court has approved the Board of Control for Cricket in India's appointment of selection committees to pick Rajasthan teams for various domestic tournaments in the upcoming '15-16 season. The court approved the committees on Friday during the hearing of a "writ petition filed by a section of Rajasthan's players, in which they sought help to play the forthcoming season." The "uncertainty over the participation of teams from Rajasthan is the effect of the dispute between the BCCI and the Rajasthan Cricket Association" (ESPN CRICINFO, 9/11). ... The Annual General Meeting of the BCCI which was scheduled to be held on Sept. 27 in Kolkata has been "indefinitely postponed as the parent body awaits the Supreme Court verdict" on whether former President N. Srinivasan can be allowed to "attend meetings." Once the apex court issues clarification, the BCCI will need to give its members at least "three weeks' notice" from the time of the final working committee meeting to convene an AGM (PTI, 9/13).
