Mexico To Host FIBA 3x3 World Tour Stop For First Time

Mexico will host a stop of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour for the first time from Wednesday-Thursday, according to LA AFICIÓN. The site of the event will be Mexico City's Estadio Olímpico Universitario. Three-on-three is a recreational form of basketball that FIBA is promoting and "looking to bring to the Olympic level" following the 2016 Olympics. The tournament in Mexico City will feature 12 teams from countries including the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Puerto Rico and Venezuela. The two finalists will have a chance to qualify for the World Tour Final in Abu Dhabi from Oct. 15-16 (LA AFICIÓN, 9/8).
