Marketplace Roundup: Hyundai Partners With A-League Side Perth Glory

A-League side Perth Glory announced that Hyundai Western Region decided to strengthen its relationship with football in Western Australia by signing on as the official vehicle partner for the club (Perth Glory). ... Serie A side Bologna named Illumia as its "back-of-shirt sponsor." Illumia joins multinational automated door and barrier manufacturer FAAC in "adorning the Bologna players’ shirts, while Italian apparel brand Macron is the club’s kit supplier." Under the terms of the deal, Illumia "will also become the new energy supplier at Dall'Ara stadium, when the current deal expires" (SOCCEREX, 9/1). ... The Chinese FA "announced two new sponsors for the country's national team: automotive joint venture Chengen Ford and smart phone manufacturer Gionee." Chengen Ford will serve as the "presenting partner" of Team China for the next four years "and as the title sponsor of the CFA Cup" in '15. Gionee's agreement, meanwhile, "is also for four years," and covers the men's and women's senior, U19 and U16 teams, as well as the men's Olympic team (SOCCEREX, 9/1). ... World Rugby announced the appointment of information and communication technology solutions company Fujitsu as an official sponsor of Rugby World Cup 2015. With less than a month to go, Rugby World Cup 2015 is on track to be the best-attended, most-viewed, most-socially engaged and most competitive tournament to date and the commercial success of the '15 edition, coupled with New Zealand '11, is enabling World Rugby to invest more than £350M ($536M) in the development of rugby from the playground to the podium across 120 nations in all continents (Rugby World Cup). ... Bundesliga side Werder Bremen has agreed to a new partnership with Berlin-based airline Germania. The airline will receive ad space on LED boards at home games at the Weser Stadium. The parties signed a contract until June 20 (Werder Bremen). ... Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) club Alba Berlin has extended its sponsorship deal with telecom provider otelo for another two years. Otelo will receive ad space at home games. The company has been a partner of the club since Nov. '14 (Alba Berlin).
