SUM To Serve As Commercial Rep For CONCACAF Cup Match

CONCACAF has chosen Soccer United Marketing to serve as commercial representative for the CONCACAF Cup, the playoff match between the U.S. and Mexico. The Oct. 10 match at the Rose Bowl will determine a berth in the '17 FIFA Confederations Cup. It is a commission-based agreement for this single game. "Based on the lead time to this event, their track record of transparency and success in the market, SUM was the ideal partner for managing this process," said CONCACAF acting General Secretary Ted Howard. CONCACAF previously had an exclusive corporate agency partnership relationship with Traffic Sports USA, which was ended on July 7 after the agency pled guilty to bribery charges brought forth by the U.S. Department of Justice. SUM has represented the U.S. commercial business of both participating federations -- U.S. Soccer Federation and the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) -- for more than a decade.
