Australian Football League Side Fremantle Gets AFL Approval To Rest 11 Players

Australian Football League side Fremantle "has been given approval to rest half the team from Saturday's road clash against Port Adelaide in a bid to have them fresh for the following week's qualifying final," according to Jon Pierik of THE AGE. The Dockers, having already locked up top spot on the ladder, officially asked the AFL on Monday "to rest 11 of the regular line-up." In a statement released on Monday evening, the AFL said, "Under the AFL rules, Fremantle is entitled to consider the management of injury and fatigue for its players before the upcoming AFL finals series" (THE AGE, 8/31).
