Telekom Malaysia Sponsors Malaysia Cup, Unveils New Trophy

Telekom Malaysia and the Football Malaysia Ltd. Liability Partnership "announced its sponsorship for Malaysia Cup where TM will take on the role of title sponsor," according to MARKETING INTERACTIVE. The trophy of the event will now be known as "TM Piala Malaysia" until '17. With the three-year deal, TM’s brand "will be displayed alongside the Piala Malaysia’s logo." TM’s marketing rights "will allow them to build a strong association with the Malaysia Cup trophy as well as the teams in the competition." TM "has also sealed a commercial sponsorship agreement with the FMLLP, making TM the co-sponsor" for the Malaysia Super League for '16 and '17. The agreement "also marks the renewal of TM’s continued support towards local football development." TM’s logo "will be displayed on the National Team’s training jerseys as well as on its official stationaries and related marketing and communications materials" (MARKETING INTERACTIVE, 8/28).
