La Liga's 20 Teams Have Increased Season Ticket Sales By 36,000 From '14

The number of La Liga season tickets sold has "increased for the second consecutive year," according to Leonardo & Estrada of AS. Last year, La Liga teams sold 4,500 more season tickets than the previous year, and this year -- with sales campaigns still going -- 589,603 season tickets have been sold, 36,016 more than in '14. This is "due in part to the three clubs promoted for this season." Real Betis, Las Palmas and Sporting have combined to sell 83,688 tickets, "very far" from the total of 27,000 sold by Almería, Elche and Córdoba last season. Betis has sold nearly 43,000 season tickets after selling 37,431 a year ago. Of La Liga's 20 teams, 10 have increased their numbers. Only Granada has seen a decrease, with 2,000 fewer tickets sold than a year ago. After Betis, Rayo Vallecano has had the next-biggest increase in members, with 1,700 more than a year ago (AS, 8/26).
