HBL Club Frisch Auf! Göppingen Turns Trio Of Sponsors Into Shareholders

Handball Bundesliga (HBL) club Frisch Auf! Göppingen "has added three new shareholders," according to Henning Eberhardt of SPONSORs. The new shareholders "are also sponsors of the club." Arena naming-rights partner EWS, second-tier sponsor EMAG and third-tier partner Hahn Group "have become shareholders in the team." The exact distribution of the shares "was not made public by the club." The team's additional shareholders are TPSG Frisch Auf! Göppingen e.V., Ulrich Weiß and Hubert Nägele. When the club got promoted to the HBL in '01, it had a capital of 1M Deutsche Mark (€510,000 back in '01). The club's budget during '15-16 is at around €5M ($5.5M) (SPONSORs, 8/14).
