DFL CEO Seifert Says Bundesliga Globalization Not Only Beneficial To Bayern Munich

German Football League (DFL) CEO Christian Seifert said that the issue of internationalization "has arrived in the Bundesliga," according to Holger Rehm of SPONSORs. However, he said the notion that Bayern Munich profits the most from it "is wrong." Seifert: "The foreign markets don't only want to see Bayern Munich. Every club has to understand internationalization as a chance for themselves." Seifert added that clubs "have become more open toward the issues." However, he still sees "a lot of potential." Seifert: "I don't want to complain but other leagues have made more out of it." The league boss is not only referring to the Premier League, but also Italy's Serie A, which is "way ahead of the Bundesliga," according to experts. Seifert: "You'll see more people in Asia who can name Serie A clubs than Bundesliga teams." He called on the clubs and league "to raise the potential together." Seifert said that generating int'l revenue "is not that easy." He said, "We don't call a foreign number and then they transfer money" (SPONSORs, 8/12).
