Media Notes: Konami Acquires UEFA Euro 2016 Video Game License

Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. acquired the official UEFA Euro 2016 video game license. The agreement extends the relationship between Konami and UEFA, with the Pro Evolution Soccer publisher offering use of its Champions League and Europa League competitions (UEFA). ... Johor Darul Ta'zim powerbroker Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim said that Malaysia Super League clubs should fight for up to an 80% share of TV profits "when a new broadcast deal begins next year."  The FA of Malaysia will privatize the MSL from the '16 season, "opening up a potential for lucrative earnings" (ESPN, 8/5). ... French TV channel L'Équipe 21 "has acquired the broadcast rights for the Russian Premier League for the next three seasons." Starting this year, the channel "will show two games per week" (SO FOOT, 8/4).
