Marketplace Roundup: European Handball Federation Partners With Bauhaus

Infront Sports & Media and the European Handball Federation have closed another official sponsorship agreement for '16, with Bauhaus extending its deal for both the men’s and women’s edition of the EHF Euros. Bauhaus is a long-term partner of the event, and will again be present alongside the tournaments in Poland (Jan. 15-31, men’s event) and Sweden (Dec. 4-18, 2016, women’s event) (Infront). ... Spanish Basketball League (ACB) club Baskonia on Thursday announced it renewed its partnership with Spanish bank Laboral Kutxa for the '15-16 season, marking the bank's seventh straight season sponsoring the club (AS, 7/30). ... Carlsberg launched its third season as official beer of the Premier League with a global TV commercial and campaign starring former ManU and Denmark national goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel and U.K. football presenter Jeff Stelling. The commercial sees a typical kickabout in the park transformed by Carlsberg into Probably the Best Kickabout in the World. Football sponsorship is an important element in Carlsberg’s commercial activity, with 23 years as a sponsor of Liverpool, eight consecutive sponsorships of the UEFA Euros, starting in West Germany in '88 and currently looking forward to next year’s UEFA Euro 2016 in France, and now three years as official beer of the Premier League (Carlsberg). ... Second Bundesliga club Kaiserslautern has signed a new shirt sponsorship deal with financial service provider Maxda. The deal was brokered by Sportfive (Sportfive). ... Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin and Ryobi have extended their partnership for the first half of the '15-16 season (Hertha Berlin). ... Bundesliga club FC Augsburg has agreed to a partnership deal with Audi. The partnership will run for an initial three years until '18 (FC Augsburg). ... Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) club Bayern Munich "signed a partnership with Italian tourism region Garda Trentino." The deal "will run until the end of the '16-17 season." The tourism region has been a partner of the club's football department since '09 (SPONSORs, 7/30). ... Financial institute Sparda-Bank Hamburg is considering supporting the city's 2024 Olympics bid. Sparda-Bank Hamburg Maketing & Communications head Konstantin Krüger: "... we could imagine staging temporary events and therefore are in talks with partners." The company "recently ended its deal with Bundesliga side Hamburg SV" (SPONSORs, 7/30). ... Global fantasy sports platform developer Mondogoal announced the addition of EPL side Tottenham as its latest team partner. The Mondogoal platform will be promoted across Tottenham's popular digital channels, including a website with 1.5 million unique users per month and an official Facebook page with nearly 7 million followers, and an estimated global fanbase of more than 400 million (Mondogoal). ... Belgian Pro League side Royal Charleroi Sporting Club "agreed a three-year sponsorship deal with 777.be." The online casino has become an official partner of the club and the 777.be logo "will feature on the back of the players’ match jerseys as part of the deal" (SOCCEREX, 7/30). ... Sports drink supplier iPro Sport will be Scottish Premiership side Dundee United’s official sports drink partner after agreeing a two-year-deal. Throughout seasons '15-16 and '16-17, the English based firm will supply products to the first team and Development Squad (DUFC). ... A-League side Adelaide United and Travel Superstore announced a partnership deal for the upcoming season. As part of the deal, the South Australian-owned travel company will appear on the back of shorts on both the Westfield Football Federation Australia Cup and A-League home and away Kappa kits (Adelaide United).
