Marketplace Roundup: Heidenheim Signs Early Contract Extension With Nike

Second Bundesliga side FC Heidenheim has signed an early contract extension with Nike until '19. The initial deal with the club's kit supplier was set to expire on June 30, 2016 (FC Heidenheim). ... Second Bundesliga side Fortuna Dusseldorf renews its partnership with Henkel for another two years until June 30, 2017. The deal provides Henkel with LED signage at the Esprit arena (Fortuna Dusseldorf). ... German telecom Deutsche Telekom has increased its partnership of the German Sports Aid Foundation (Deutsche Sporthilfe) and becomes a team sports supporter of the DSH (Deutsche Sporthilfe). ... The transfers of Robin Van Persie and Nani are being attributed with a rise in shirt and season ticket sales at Turkish side Fenerbahce. The club has already sold 32,000 season tickets and 53,000 shirts and "expects to break its previous record of 500,000 team jerseys sold within a single season over the '12-13 league campaign" (TURKISH FOOTBALL, 7/27).

BRASILEIRO GOES VIRTUAL: Brasileiro clubs Corinthians and Flamengo "signed exclusive licensing agreements with Konami, makers of the Pro Evolution Soccer video game." The two teams "opted to sign an exclusive agreement for Konami's upcoming Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 game after the Japanese company offered 20 times more than rival games manufacturer EA Sports" (SOCCEREX, 7/29). ... League One side Sheffield United announced a sponsorship deal with Winchester Car Sales. The new partnership will see a new dugout and specially-designed seats installed at Bramall Lane. As part of the sponsorship, both the dugout and seats will feature the Winchester Car Sales logo (SUFC). ... Ricoh signed an agreement with the Ladies Union and IMG to continue as title sponsor of the Ricoh Women's British Open through '18. Ricoh is in its ninth year as title sponsor of the Ricoh Women's British Open, making it one of the longest serving sponsors in women's golf (Ricoh). ... The Rugby Football League announced the extension of its partnership with Polar, which will be providing the organization with GPS products. First Utility Super League referees will use the Polar M400 as a central part of their fitness training, combining GPS and 24/7 activity tracking with advanced sports technology using Bluetooth Smart (RFL).
