Swedish Golfer Henrik Stenson Launches Golf Course Design Business

Swedish golfer Henrik Stenson announced the debut of Henrik Stenson Golf Design, a global golf course design business. The company will be based out of Orlando, Fla. with a European office located in Sweden. Stenson has engaged Christian Lundin, partner architect at global design practice (re)GOLF, as his lead architect. Lundin is an associate member of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects. Stenson said, "I have always been fascinated by the layouts and architecture on golf courses and I feel that now is the right time in my career to begin pursuing course design." Henrik Stenson Gold Design has recently contracted its first design project: a 36-hole redevelopment of Österåker Golf Club, located outside Stokholm. Österåker Golf Club is an existing 45-hole golf course that is planning a complete makeover during the coming years (Henrik Stenson Golf Design).
