Marketplace Roundup: French Football League Hires Dentsu Aegis Network

The French Football League (LFP) has retained the Dentsu Aegis Nework as it seeks a naming rights sponsor for Ligue 1. The agency, part of Japanese agency Dentsu, "was appointed to find a lead partner" for the LFP after a tender was launched in March (SOCCEREX, 7/3). ... Argentine first division side Newell's Old Boys named adidas its new technical sponsor. The brand will "supply official match kit" to the club for the next two years, with an option for a two-year extension (SOCCEREX, 7/2). ... EPL club Norwich City announced a new eight-year deal with Errea that will see the Italian brand producing the Canaries' kits until '24. The news follows the launch of the '15-16 Errea home kit, which has broken the club's record for first-day sales (Norwich City). ... Spanish third division side Deportivo Guadalajara has added a rainbow stripe to its historically purple shirt to "pay tribute to the LGBT movement and celebrate equality, inclusion and unity," it explained (MARCA, 7/5). ... Czech club Sparta Prague has agreed to a shirt sponsorship deal with lottery company Synot Tip. The company's logo will "feature on the front of the team's playing jerseys in all competitions in each of the next two seasons." No financial terms were released (SOCCEREX, 7/3). ... League Championship side Huddersfield Town confirmed that PURE Legal Ltd. is the club’s new main home shirt sponsor for the '15-16 season. PURE Legal is a legal services business that provides services to the legal industry as a whole (Huddersfield Town). ... EPL side Southampton named OctaFX its official forex partner. OctaFX provides forex brokerage services to clients in more than 100 countries around the world (Southampton FC).

MAN CITY REVEALS '15-16 KIT: Man City launched its home kit for the '15-16 season on Friday (London INDEPENDENT, 7/3). ... AS Roma signed a sponsorship and co-marketing agreement with mineral water producer Acqua Fiuggi for the next three seasons, from July '15-June '18. Acqua Fiuggi also owns a spa complex (REUTERS, 7/3). ... Ligue 1 side Olympique de Marseille signed a two-year partnership with online poker and betting company Winamax. The company's logo will appear on the team's shorts for the '15-16 season (ISPORTCONNECT, 7/3).

IN GERMANY: Infront Sports & Media has secured the AHORN Hotel Group as the new main and shirt sponsor of 3rd League club Chemnitzer FC. The agreement covers a one-year period starting in the '15-16 season, with an option to extend for another two years. The company will receive branding on the jerseys, advertising on boards in TV camera view, a hospitality contingent and activation opportunities with the players. It is AHORN Hotels' first commitment in the 3. Liga (Infront). ... 2nd Bundesliga club Fortuna Düsseldorf has announced a partnership with Malta-based online bookmakers Tipbet worth more than €1M ($1.1M) across the three seasons to '17-18. Tipbet will be "added to Fortuna's roster of premium sponsors, where it joins the Warsteiner Group," which earlier this week confirmed the extension of its agreement with the club (SOCCEREX, 7/3).
