On Tuesday, at Atlético Madrid's first board meeting outside Spain, which took place in China, ZHANG LIN officially joined the board as a director. Lin, representing the Wanda Group, is Atlético's "latest big signing for this year." He will "add money to the club coffers" (MARCA, 6/24). ... Brazil President DILMA ROUSSEFF announced that LUIZA TRAJANO is the new president of the Brazilian Olympic Public Council. Trajano replaces HENRIQUE MEIRELLES in the "position that is a key part of inspecting costs and progress of projects for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro" (MAQUINA DO ESPORTE, 6/23). ... The Int'l Sailing Federation (ISAF) announced the appointment of MALCOLM PAGE as head of marketing & media. Page has previously been a communications consultant at Australian telecom Telstra, the chef de mission for the Australian team at the Pacific Games as well as an Olympic athlete. He brings a host of corporate and competitive knowledge to the position at ISAF. Page will report to the new CEO and takes the post with immediate effect at the ISAF Secretariat in Southampton, Great Britain (ISAF).
