League Notes: BCCI Stance 'Remains Same' On Decision Review System

Just a couple of days after India’s Test captain Virat Kohli "gave positive signals" about the use of the Decision Review System, Board of Control for Cricket in India President Jagmohan Dalmiya on Wednesday "clarified that the Board’s 'stand remains same' but the Cricket Advisory Committee might take a call in future." However, there was "a slight contrast" from his predecessor N. Srinivasan’s stand as Dalmiya stated that the BCCI is "open to discussions" and might use a modified version during a future bilateral series (PTI, 6/18). ... The Australian Football League Players' Association "is contacting players who have suffered concussions over the weekend to ensure they are treating the issue 'seriously.'" The initiative, which has been ticked off by AFL Football Operations Manager Mark Evans and Chief Medical Officer Peter Harcourt, "was introduced at the start of the season." The union "has not been speaking with every player who has suffered a concussion," and while AFLPA GM of Player Relations Ian Prendergast would not specify how many had been contacted, he confirmed it was a "decent amount" (THE AGE, 6/18).
