The Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) announced journalist FERNANDO MELLO as the governing body's new director of communications. Mello will "centralize the CBF's information" to ensure that the governing body speaks for itself while "preventing other sectors" from making unauthorized CBF statements (ESTADÃO, 6/15). ... Scottish Championship side Rangers appointed STEWART ROBERTSON as its new managing director. He will "be in charge of the day-to-day running at Ibrox after impressing since taking charge of the club's financial department earlier this year" (Scotland DAILY RECORD, 6/16). ... Ligue 1 club Olympique Lyonnais named DAVID BANGET its new chief digital officer. Banget, who previously worked for listings websites 1001 Listes and A Vendre A Louer, "will work across the different online outlets and services used by the club's supporters." He will also develop OL's digital strategy (SOCCEREX, 6/16). ... Scottish Premiership club Dundee announced that BILL COLVIN has "stepped down as chairman." The local businessman will also leave his position on the Dens Park board with TIM KEYES "poised to take his place next month" (STV, 6/16). ... Athletics Australia CEO PHIL JONES confirmed the appointment of KITTY CHILLER and TRACEY GAUDRY to two newly created GM positions at Athletics Australia. Gaudry becomes the GM of commercial & growth while Chiller takes on the role of GM of people & culture, on a part-time basis, complementing her existing commitments as the Chef de Mission of the Australian Olympic Team (Athletics Australia). ... Premiership Rugby club London Irish on Tuesday announced that it is strengthening its management resources. Among the senior appointments confirmed are BOB CASEY as CEO, PAUL FORSYTH as head of finance, DARREN HENRY as head of commercial, FIONA STOCKLEY as head of operations, GLENN DELANEY as head of rugby operations and KIERAN MCCARTHY as rugby chair. DAVID FITZGERALD reverts to a non-exec chair role (London Irish).

COACHES/MANAGERS: ARMANDO EVANGELISTA is the new coach of Primeira Liga side Vitória. Evangelista succeeds RUI VITÓRIA, who "was presented on Monday as the new coach of Benfica" (LUSA, 6/15). ... Brasileiro side Palmeiras "finally confirmed" on Monday its new coach, MARCELO OLIVEIRA. Oliveira "signed a contract" for R$400,000 ($129,000) that is valid until Dec. '16 (ESTADÃO, 6/15). ... LUIS MAGALHÃES has been confirmed as the head coach of Cape Verde for AfroBasket 2015. The Mozambique-born Portuguese tactician has replaced Nigerian ALEX NWORA, who coached the islanders at AfroBasket 2013 (FIBA). ... AC Milan has appointed former Serbia coach SINIŠA MIHAJLOVIĆ as its new coach after "sacking" FILIPPO INZAGHI. Mihajlović, 46, has "signed a two-year deal after leaving Sampdoria earlier this month" (BBC, 6/16). ... MARCO GIAMPAOLO will replace MAURIZIO SARRI on the Serie A side Empoli bench next season. Sarri resigned from his position as coach of the Tuscan club, later taking over from RAFA BENITEZ at Napoli (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 6/15).
