Nearly 9.5M Watch U.S.-Germany Int'l Friendly On ARD

German public broadcaster ARD "recorded nearly 9.5 million viewers for its broadcast of the int'l friendly between the U.S. and Germany on Wednesday," according to Manuel Weis of QUOTENMETER. The game, which started at 9:30pm, attracted an average of 9.41 million viewers. The number translated into a 32.8% market share. In the target demographic 14-49, Germany's 2-1 loss obtained a 29.8% share (QUOTENMETER, 6/11).

IN SPAIN: AS reported Spain's Women's World Cup game against Costa Rica on Tuesday drew an average audience of 959,000 on Teledeporte, which translated to a market share of 4.9%. Pregame coverage drew 518,550 viewers, for a share of 3%, and postgame coverage reached 431,376 viewers, a market share of 2.6% (AS, 6/10).
