Elche President Juan Anguix Working To Raise Money To Keep Club In La Liga

Relegated La Liga side Elche President Juan Anguix "has two fronts open and just one objective: recover the category lost in the offices," according to M.H. Marcos of AS. Anguix met on Monday with the lawyers who will appeal the club's relegation to the second division because of unpaid debts to the tax authorities. Anguix is also looking to raise the €3.6M ($4M) the club needs to be readmitted to La Liga. He "will again try to contact" the Spanish Football League (LFP) to schedule a meeting with LFP President Javier Tebas and Dir General Javier Gómez. Anguix "is also expected to speak with local businessmen seeking their personal and economic support in this effort to save Elche" (AS, 6/7).
