La Liga Side Málaga Receives $33.7M Offer For Controlling Stake In Club

La Liga side Málaga "has on the table" an offer to buy club Owner Abdullah Al-Thani's shares, according to Antonio Gallardo of AS. A Chinese investment group with which club directors have been negotiating for months has offered €30M ($33.7M) to "take absolute control of the club." The offer does not include Málaga's debt, which is currently €28M ($31.5M), and "will be assumed by the group buying the club." Sources "close to the club" have confirmed the existence of this offer. Until now, Al-Thani "has appeared reluctant to the possibility of selling the club, but the interest of the Chinese group, in whose name intermediary Double-Edged Sport is negotiating, seems firm" (AS, 6/4).
