Media Notes: TVP Picks Up Live Rights Package To 2015 Copa America

Polish public broadcasting corporation TVP "has picked up a package of live rights" to the 2015 Copa América. The deal "will see the TVP Sport HD channel show all games from the national team tournament live, while TVP’s online streaming service Sport.tvp.pl will also offer comprehensive coverage." In addition, TVP1 " will also show some of the matches" (SOCCEREX, 6/2). ... League Championship side Charlton Athletic is "in hot water with the advertising watchdog over an advert which showed a couple having sex at The Valley." The video "was broadcast on the club's official YouTube channel, to try and entice people to book the stadium for their own use in the close season." YouTube also said the video did not violate its community guidelines, but the Advertising Standards Authority claimed that children "were still likely to see the video" (London MIRROR, 6/3). ... Eurosport "has been confirmed as the broadcast partner" for the Int'l Cycling Union (UCI) Hour Record of four-time Olympic Gold Medalist and Britain’s first Tour de France winner, Bradley Wiggins. Cycling fans can watch Wiggins’ efforts on Eurosport across Europe and Asia-Pacific "and on an exclusive basis in France, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Poland and Spain" on Sunday. In the U.K., the event "will air on Sky Sports" (ADVANCED TELEVISION, 6/3).
