Contract talks between the club and current manager SLAVIŠA JOKANOVIĆ "broke down" after the Serbian reportedly demanded £2.5M ($3.8M) per year (SKY SPORTS, 6/1). ... City government from Magé, Brazil, the hometown of former footballer MANÉ GARRINCHA,"would like to build a museum honoring" him. Magé Mayor NESTOR VIDAL, who felt that Garrincha's burial site does "not reach what he means to Magé and the world," said that the museum "needs an investment" of up to R$6M ($2M) (ESTADÃO, 6/2). ... Former League Championship side Brentford boss MARK WARBURTON has confirmed that he has "held talks about the manager's job" at Scottish Championship side Rangers, one of a number of clubs he has spoken to. SUPERSTAR: What other "drama could possibly await" FIFA? Well, there is this movie: a "star-dappled epic" about FIFA, underwritten by FIFA and portraying FIFA President SEPP BLATTER as a "resolute champion of ethics." Its American premiere is on Friday, in the "fresh wake of advance publicity conjured by last week’s dramatic indictments." That is the "kind of buzz you just can’t buy." The film is called "United Passions," but it is "not, as the title might suggest, a lusty adventure in the way-too-friendly skies: a lonely flight attendant, a misunderstood pilot." No. This is about the "succession of men in suits who nurtured" FIFA from its "idealistic creation a century ago to its current state of monstrosity" (N.Y. TIMES, 6/1).

MURRAY APOLOGIZES: ANDY MURRAY took to Twitter to “say sorry” after dropping the “f-word” several times at the French Open. Tennis coach CHRIS NELSON tweeted that he had “turned off his TV because kids were watching the match with him" (Scotland DAILY RECORD, 6/2).
