Sky Deutschland Sets New Ratings Record On Final Bundesliga Matchday

German pay-TV operator Sky Deutschland "set a new ratings record with its coverage of the final Bundesliga matchday," according to Marcel Pohlig of DWDL. Sky obtained a market share of 20% in the target demographic 14-49 for its simulcast of Saturday's games. The coverage attracted 1.67 million viewers and had a 14.5% market share. Sky's best viewership of the season came in February when 1.69 million viewers tuned in. In the target demographic, Saturday's coverage drew a 21.7% share as 920,000 viewers tuned in. Both numbers are new highs. Throughout the '14-15 season, Sky averaged 1.28 million viewers for its coverage on Saturdays, which equals the figure from the previous season. The average market share was 8.8%.

German public broadcaster ARD replicated its viewership numbers from the '13-14 season for its Bundesliga highlights program, "Sportschau," this season. An average of 5.04 million viewers tuned in to watch the show during the '14-15 campaign. The final matchday boosted the program's number as it drew 5.77 million viewers and had a market share of 31.2%. In the target demo, Saturday's Sportschau obtained a 26.2% share as 1.48 million viewers tuned in (DWDL, 5/24).
