Australian Telecom Telstra Signs 10-Year Deal With Racing Victoria

Telstra "signed a 10-year deal with Racing Victoria, in a deal that will involve broadcast, data and media capabilities as well as its integrity services," according to David Swan of THE AUSTRALIAN. Racing Victoria picked up Telstra’s new Digital Video network 2 which it said "would allow multiple broadcast feeds from 24 racetracks across Victoria." The organization "will also license products from Telstra-owned firms Ooyala, which provide video analytics, and Chief Entertainment, which offers production services." The installation, at the 24 racetracks which host 80% of TAB meetings in Victoria, "will be completed by 2016." The deal "does not include broadcast rights, and discussions are ongoing" (THE AUSTRALIAN, 5/25).
