Argentine Security Secretary Vows To Manage Argentine FA Following Boca Juniors Incident

Argentine Security Secretary Sergio Berni said that the solution to violence in football is for the government to operate the Argentine FA for six months because "everything is rotten," according to DYN. Berni: "I do not have any doubt, because everything is rotten. I say this every day to the directors. We will operate the AFA for six months." Berni said that the problem "is not social," and related the issue with the relationship between AFA leaders and the barras bravas (fan gangs). He added, "I believe that it has to come from outside. ... It is an internal matter, if they want to solve it. When my directors say to me, 'Take charge of the security,' I tell them, 'Give me the AFA, I will manage it for you and solve it.'" He also warned that club execs, "by action or omission, are responsible" for what happens on the field (DYN, 5/18).
