Executive Transactions

The Indian Premier League "could be in for some creative crisis as a top policy maker of the league has decided to part ways with the tournament." IMG senior VP PETER GRIFFITHS has reportedly "quit the sports management company to join the NFL" in the U.S. The exit of Griffiths, wo has been associated with the IPL since its inception in '08, "could lead to policy vacuum in the championship as the Briton had been involved in key innovations in the tournament" (MUMBAI MIRROR, 5/1). ... ROGER VANDEN STOCK is the new president of the Belgian Pro League. The league's general assembly elected PIERRE FRANCOIS as managing director. Vanden Stock succeeds PETER QUAGHEBEUR, who "was a temporary Pro League president" after the departure of businessman MICHEL DUPONT in Oct. '14. Vanden Stock "has a mandate for two years" (INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL, 5/1). ... La Liga side Granada has appointed JOSE ROMAN SANDOVAL until the end of the season after ABEL RESINO "lost his job" as coach. Resino was "removed following El Grana’s Thursday night home reverse against Espanyol, having only been appointed in January." Granada has confirmed Sandoval's arrival is on an "initial short-term basis, to cover the final four games of the season" (FOOTBALL ESPANA, 5/1).
