Serie A Side Napoli Signs New Five-Year Kit Sponsorship With Kappa

Serie A side Napoli has signed a five-year kit sponsorship deal with Kappa, according to SOCCEREX. The Italian sportswear manufacturer announced that it was to "become the new technical sponsor of the Serie A team" from the '15-16 season. The financial terms of the deal "have not been disclosed," but reports suggest it could be worth €8M ($8.9M) per year. Kappa was previously a technical sponsor of Napoli for the '04-05 and '05-06 seasons and will replace fellow Italian sportswear brand Macron, which has supplied the club’s kit since '09. A statement from Kappa said, "In addition to the usual business of providing technical and merchandising development, collaborations are planned for extended brand enhancement for the Napoli brand, which will benefit from the important network of business partners developed by the Kappa-owned BasicNet Group in the world" (SOCCEREX, 4/28).
