Schalke President Says Club Looks To Extend Deal With Gazprom Beyond '17

Bundesliga side Schalke President Clemens Tönnies said that the club "wants to extend its partnership with Gazprom beyond '17 despite the political unrest in Eastern Europe," according to the SID. The 58-year-old called it a "trustful partnership." Tönnies: "Gazprom is highly satisfied with its engagement. The club is too." He added that the two parties "will get together at the appropriate time to talk about the future." Gazprom has been a partner of Schalke since '07. The two parties signed an early contract extension in '11 (SID, 4/26).
