Argentine first division side Crucero del Norte coach GABRIEL SCHURRER announced his resignation on Wednesday. The club confirmed that "it reached an agreement for him to step down from the first team." Crucero del Norte is currently in 27th place in its 30-team division (ESPN, 4/22). ... Almost 20 days after sacking coach AÍLTON SILVA, Brasileiro Série C side Portuguesa announced JÚNIOR LOPES as its new coach. Aside from Lopes' coaching career, he is "also well known for being the son" of Brasileiro side Botafogo coach ANTÔNIO LOPES (ESTADÃO, 4/22).
