Brasileiro side Flamengo's deliberative council on Tuesday discussed and unanimously approved a "plenary and pioneering fiscal responsibility measure" for its employees and managers, according to ESTADÃO. Among the addressed points were "punishments for leaders, changes in the annual budget and measures to guarantee transparency." It was determined that "from here on out, 'causing losses and harmful actions to Flamengo property and image can result in personal payments, even after the end of a term.'" Or, in the event of misappropriations or proven tax evasions, for example, the "boss would have to pay out of his or her own pocket, along with being terminated and becoming ineligible for rehire for 15 years." With this measure, Flamengo "became the first club in Brazil to enforce" the Medida Provisória. In relation to the club's budget, the changes "propose preserving the institution's financial health." For transparency, it is now "mandatory" for management to turn in expense reports to the club every trimester. Since beginning his term, Flamengo President Eduardo Bandeira de Mello has "pushed for transparency, fiscal responsibility and debt payment." Flamengo was also "one of the only clubs that publicly defended" the MP. Bandeira de Mello: "It's a huge satisfaction to find that the council, unanimously, approved a set of rules that do not allow anyone to run the risk of performing deleterious practices in the club's management.
