Chinese Investor Zong Qinghou Reportedly Preparing Offer For AC Milan

Chinese billionaire Zong Qinghou "is preparing an offer to purchase Milan over the course of a three-year plan," according to FOOTBALL ITALIA. As Thai investor Bee Taechaubol "continues his due diligence into the Rossoneri's accounts, a new agent may have entered the race to buy at least a percentage share in the club." According to the Corriere della Sera, Zong, the owner of Chinese beverage producer Hangzhou Wahaha Group, nicknamed "Mr Cola" for his Future Cola drink, may present an offer to club President Silvio Berlusconi in the next few days. The plan "would allegedly involve purchasing a minority share of the club as an initial move," with a view to acquiring 75% of the shares within three years (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 4/1). In a separate piece, FOOTBALL ITALIA reported Taechaubol will finish analyzing Milan's accounts by the end of April. According to Tuttosport, the process "is well underway and updates are expected after Easter, on from the potential buyer's planned meetings with Berlusconi and two Fininvest directors, Pasquale Cannatelli and Alessandro Franzosi, responsible for handling the sale of Milan's minority shares" (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 4/1).
