Marketplace Roundup: Baku 2015 European Games Signs With Nestlé Azerbaijan

Baku 2015 European Games has signed an agreement with Nestlé Azerbaijan to serve as the official confectionery supplier of this summer’s inaugural event. Under the terms of the deal, the world’s largest nutrition company will supply coffee, confectionery and cereal bars, which will be made available to spectators at all European Games venues. The Nestlé brands covered by the deal include Kit Kat, Lion, Nestlé Fitnees and Nescafé (Baku 2015). ... Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) club Brose Baskets Bamberg has agreed to a new kit supply deal with Italy-based Macron. The deal, which takes effect with the start of the '15-16 season, will run for four years with an option to extend it even further (Brose Baskets Bamberg). ... German beer brand Warsteiner "has extended its partnership with the HockeyPark in Mönchengladbach for another five years." Warsteiner "will remain the official beer distributor of the venue." However, it "will not stay on as its naming-rights partner" (MEDIABIZ, 3/24). ... ManU and its official integrated telecom partner for Nigeria, Ghana and the Republic of Benin, Globacom, announced a multi-year extension of their partnership on Monday. Since establishing the relationship in '09, ManU has worked with Globacom on a number of promotional activities. These included the innovative Recharge and Go to Old Trafford Promo in which more than 100 Glo subscribers were taken to the ManU stadium to watch the team’s Premier League home games and Champions League matches (ManU). ... Spartan Sports teamed up with Chennai Super Kings, supplying the Indian Premier League franchise with sporting apparel and equipment during the IPL 2015 season. The partnership means CSK will wear Spartan manufactured team uniforms, along with Spartan branded training apparel and kitting. The partnership is the first the company has entered into with a sporting team (Spartan Sports).

TIME AFTER TIME: Speedway sponsor Meridian Lifts has stepped up its involvement in the FIM Speedway Grand Prix series by becoming the two-minute clock sponsor for '15. The company’s branding will appear on the three two-minute clocks at every FIM Speedway Grand Prix venue this season (IMG). ... Cricket Ireland has partnered with energy management solutions experts and technology company Hanley Energy in a deal that will see the Irish-owned company also sponsor the 2015 Inter-Provincial Series. The agreement, which begins with immediate effect, will also see Hanley Energy become the official technology partner to Cricket Ireland (Cricket Ireland).
