Marketplace Roundup: German Football Federation Agrees To Partnership With Henkel

The German Football Federation (DFB) has agreed to a new partnership with chemical products producer Henkel. The company will become an official partner of the DFB as well as the official premium partner of the women's national team. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed (DFB). ... Banco do Brasil became the newest sponsor for Allianz Parque, Brasileiro side Palmeiras' new stadium, "in a yearlong agreement." Banco do Brasil "did not disclose" specifics but the bank may "name a seating section at the location" (MAQUINA DO ESPORTE, 3/23). ... Turkish Airlines reached an agreement with Mediapro to show Sunday's game between Barcelona and Real Madrid -- which Barcelona won 2-1 -- on 17 of its long-haul flights, the "first in-flight live broadcast of a La Liga game." It meant around 5,000 passengers "were able to keep up with the action at 30,000 feet" (FOOTBALL ESPANA, 3/23). ... The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) has "secured sponsorship" for a pair of upcoming int'l fixtures from two beverage brands. Banks Beer and Coca-Cola, both distributed in the Caribbean nation by Banks DIH Ltd., were "major sponsors" of Guyana's game against St. Lucia on Sunday and will sponsor Guyana vs. Grenada on Saturday (SOCCEREX, 3/20). ... Rovio Entertainment and the Aryton Senna Institute "closed a partnership" to produce a new version of its main series, Angry Birds. The partnership "celebrates" the late F1 driver Aryton Senna's 55th birthday, which was March 21. This version of Angry Birds is a "laid back racing game, and for that reason it involves the Brazilian driver" (MAQUINA DO ESPORTE, 3/23).

IN AUSTRALIA: A-League side Sydney FC and Telstra announced the signing of a three-year partnership which will see Telstra become the club's official telecommunications and statistics partner until June '17. Striker Bernie Ibini will become Telstra's first official Sydney FC player ambassador and the club will also work closely with Telstra to provide members and fans with Sky Blues statistics (Sydney FC). ... Australian winery Wolf Blass has been named the official wine of the Australian Football League. The partnership will see Wolf Blass further expand the brand's AFL footprint following existing relationships with Brisbane and Essendon (AFL).

AAMAL EXTENDS WITH QFA: Holding company Aamal will continue to sponsor Qatar's National A men's team, HH the Emiri Cup, the Qatar Gas League and the Qatar Futsal League for the'14-15 season, after Aamal Chair HE Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim al-Thani and Qatar FA President HE Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed al-Thani signed a partnership agreement (GULF TIMES, 3/22).
