German Public Broadcaster ARD Sets New Season Best For German Cup Game Broadcast

German public broadcaster ARD "recorded a new season best for its broadcast of the DFB-Pokal (German Cup) game between Borussia Dortmund and Dynamo Dresden," according to Manuel Nunez Sanchez of QUOTENMETER. The round of 16 matchup attracted an average of 7.67 million viewers on Tuesday evening. The number translated into a market share of 24.5%. In the target demographic 14-49, Dortmund's 2-0 win obtained a 19% share as 2.16 million viewers tuned in. ARD's 15-minute pregame coverage was watched by 5.83 million viewers and had a 21.8% share. In the target demo, the numbers were 16.5% by 1.62 million viewers. After the final whistle, ARD recorded 4.53 million viewers, including 1.27 million in the target demo. The postgame coverage, which included highlights of the other three games, obtained market shares 23.6% and 17.8% in the target demo (QUOTENMETER, 3/4).
