A League Championship side Leeds United supporters' group "wants to meet actor Russell Crowe" after speculation that he is interested in buying the club. Dylan Thwaites, who fronts Leeds Fans LLP, said that they "are interested in Crowe's role in rugby league." Thwaites: "Via fan ownership, he's taken South Sydney Rabbitohs [the rugby league club he part-owns] from a dire situation to world champions." A statement from the fan group read, "Russell is back in the UK next month and we will try to get a face-to-face [meeting] to see if we can get something more concrete from him" (BBC, 3/3). ... Samsung Heavy Industries Rugby Club, one of Korea's three semi-professional rugby teams, "has been disbanded due to the company cutting its sports club budget." Korea Rugby Union Secretary General Park Tae-woong "expressed regret about the decision," but said that "the country's rugby league would continue as scheduled." Sources said that "the decision came after Samsung Group's plan to disband some of the sports clubs it owns as part of cost cutting" (KOREA TIMES, 3/3). ... Force India "finally rolled out its new car for the upcoming Formula One season on Friday, with only two more days remaining to get it up to speed." Driver Nico Hulkenberg "took the new car, the Mercedes-powered VJMO8, for its maiden drive during testing at the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit." While not as fast as the rest, "the vehicle proved reliable as Hulkenberg broke it in with 77 laps in less than five hours" (AP, 3/1).
