Vitória Sued For $45,000 By JA Sports On Behalf Of Former Defender Rodrigo Defendi

Brasileiro side Vitória FC is being sued by JA Sports Gestão e Assessoria de Carreiras Desportivas on behalf of its former defender Rodrigo Defendi, according to GLOBO ESPORTE. JA Sports "intiated" the case against Vitória charging approximately R$121,000 ($45,553) because the club "promised to pay JA Sports R$100,000" if Defendi "effectively participated in the Campeonato Baiano without injury." JA Sports is also "pushing" Vitória for an extra R$2,000 ($700) for "every game Defendi played as a Baiano and Copa do Nordeste champion" as well as R$1,000 ($351) for "every time Defendi was selected for two competitions." Attempts made at contacting Vitória representatives for statements on the matter were "unsuccessful" (GLOBO ESPORTE, 2/28).
