Technology Firm Innovate Aquires Wexford Park Naming Rights

Wexford Park has become the latest Gaelic Athletic Association stadium "to be signed up for naming rights," according to Martin Breheny of the IRISH INDEPENDENT. Innovate, a technology company with strong Wexford connections, "has struck a four-year deal with the Wexford County Board to be the title sponsor for the famous ground." It brings to five the number of county grounds whose naming rights "have been sold as part of the on-going drive to raise additional funds in difficult economic times." Wexford Chair Diarmuid Devereux said that selling the naming rights for Wexford Park "made sound commercial sense and was all the more attractive because it involved a local company which had close links with the GAA." Devereux: "We see this as a perfect link-up" (IRISH INDEPENDENT, 2/26). The Irish JOURNAL's Fintan O'Toole reported the deal sees Innovate Business Technology Ltd. "being appointed the official IT partner of Wexford GAA." The sponsorship dealwas negotiated by Club Wexford (JOURNAL, 2/26).
