Liga MX side Monarcas Morelia announced that Sporting VP MARIO TREJO is stepping down from his position. The club thanked Trejo for his work in a pair of tweets. It "is worth mentioning" that the club recently sacked Manager ALFREDO TENA (LA AFICION, 2/24). ... Premiership Rugby club Irish London has appointed former captain and Ireland int'l BOB CASEY as operations director. Casey's newly created role spans both the club's rugby and commercial activities (London Irish). ... Infront Sports & Media has appointed SVEN BINER its director of its sports services unit. He will be responsible for the group's comprehensive sports services portfolio, including broadcaster servicing, live advertising solutions, sponsorship and hospitality services. Biner will assume his position on April 1. Biner joins Infront from his position as senior asset manager for global sports marketing at adidas, where he currently manages and develops the Bayern Munich partnership and drives the internal LED and digital overlay task force. He replaces THOMAS LESSENICH. Lessenich will now focus on his position as managing director of the AspireInfront joint venture in Qatar (Infront). ... The England & Wales Cricket Board confirmed COLIN GRAVES as its chairman for the next five years. Graves, the current ECB deputy chairman, succeeds GILES CLARKE in the role. He will officially take over the position in May (BBC, 2/24). ... Super Rugby side NSW Waratahs "finally" has a new CEO -- current Rugby Union Player's Association CEO GREG HARRIS. Harris will leave the players’ union to start with the Waratahs on March 2, five months after current CEO JASON ALLEN announced his decision to step down. Harris has spent the last four-and-a-half years at the helm of the RUPA (AAP, 2/24). ... Liga MX side Queretaro on Monday announced that it sacked coach IGNACIO AMBRIZ and hired VÍCTOR MANUEL VUCETICH as his replacement for the remainder of the season (DPA, 2/23).

WRU CEO TO STEP DOWN: Welsh Rugby Union CEO ROGER LEWIS "is to stand down" after this autumn's World Cup. Lewis, 60, was appointed in '06 and his tenure was marked by "historic highs and controversy." He appointed WARREN GATLAND as national coach and Gatland has overseen a "third Golden Era that has included three Six Nations titles and a 2011 World Cup semi-final appearance." He "has also helped reduce the Millennium Stadium debt, overseen record financial turnover, and introduced national dual contracts for some leading Wales players." There has "also been controversy." The WRU's relationship with professional teams Cardiff Blues, Scarlets, Newport Gwent Dragons and Ospreys "descended into a bitter and prolonged civil war over governance and funding" (BBC, 2/24).
