Thai Investor Bee Taechaubol Confirms Interest In AC Milan, But Denies Making Bid

Thai investor Bee Taechaubol has "confirmed he would be interested in buying AC Milan after the Serie A club's majority shareholders denied reports that he had made a bid," according to Ben Gladwell of ESPN. In the statement, Fininvest -- part of former Italian PM Silvio Berlusconi's portfolio of companies -- "said it was not in negotiations" with Bee. It came after the Bangkok Post published an interview in which Bee claimed he had made a €1B ($1.14B) bid for the Rossoneri -- "a quote the investor later denied having given." Bee said, "I want to clarify some wrong or misleading information. I do not deny the interest in a possible share acquisition into such a prestigious club such as AC Milan, but at the moment it's only cordial and private discussions with representatives from the AC Milan group. No decision on both parts has been taken, nor has any agreement been signed" (ESPN, 2/18).
