Atlético Madrid To Wear Baku 2015 Logo During Champions League Matches

Atlético Madrid will wear the logo of Baku 2015, the first European games, according to NEWS.AZ. Azerbaijan has been a sponsor of Atlético since Jan. '13. The club has "always wanted to share the most significant historical moments" for Azerbaijan. Atlético players wore the Baku 2015 logo on the front of their shirts during Saturday's 4-0 win over Real Madrid (NEWS.AZ, 2/9). In Madrid, F.J. Díaz reported Atlético CEO Miguel Ángel Gil Marín is traveling to Azerbaijan and Turkey to "address topics related to the club." He traveled to Azerbaijan on Monday. Atlético's deal with Azerbaijan expires at the end of this season and Gil Marín is "listening to offers for the upcoming seasons." Relations between the two "are very good and they could continue their association in the future." Gil Marín is then expected to travel to Turkey, "where he has friendships and excellent contacts from the club's signing of Arda Turan." Turkish Airlines "is one of the possible sponsors for the future and it has been linked with naming rights to La Peineta stadium" (AS, 2/9).
