Media Notes: EPL Side Tottenham Launches New Website For Chinese Fans

Tottenham unveiled a new Chinese-language website to further engage with its growing fanbase in the region. Partnering with Chinese online sports portal Netease Sports, the site launches in time for the Chinese New Year and will act as the hub for all digital initiatives, bringing the latest news and videos directly to Chinese fans in their native language (Tottenham). ... Norway’s TV2 "picked up a package of programming rights to Real Madrid TV, the dedicated subscription channel" operated by the Spanish club. The commercial broadcaster "will air Real Madrid programming until the end of the current campaign." Its coverage "will primarily focus on the Real Madrid B team, for whom Norwegian teenager Martin Ødegaard is now playing following his transfer to the La Liga leaders last month" (SOCCEREX, 2/6). ... NBC on Saturday drew 1.35 million viewers for the Chelsea-Man City match. That figure "marks the third-best EPL audience in U.S. TV history." NBC over the last five months has aired three of the four most-viewed EPL matches on record in the U.S. (Austin Karp, THE DAILY). ... Disney India’s interactive arm revealed Int'l Cricket Council Pro Cricket 2015 "for PC and smartphones." The game "is being developed by Disney India’s own Indiagames, a leading developer and publisher in India." ICC Pro Cricket 2015 "will feature over 150 official players" from the 14 int'l squads playing in the 2015 Cricket World Cup (IGN, 2/5). ... IMG announced it has renewed and enhanced its contract to distribute the global rights to the Danish Superliga for the next six years. The deal, which covers all media rights, also includes the 1st League -- Denmark’s second tier -- for the first time, while the Danish Cup is once again part of the agreement. The renewal, which begins with the '15-16 season, builds on an existing partnership which has been in place since the '09-10 campaign (IMG).
