Fox Int'l Channels appointed OLIVIER BRAMLY as the new GM of FIC France and French speaking Belgium, Switzerland, Africa and DROM-COM territories starting in April. Olivier "will have direct responsibility for all business areas including affiliate and content distribution, programming, advertising sales, marketing and production" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 2/4). ... TalkSport-owned magazine Sport Publisher SIMON CANEY is leaving the publication, which has a circulation of more than 300,000 per week. He said that he has been “mulling over the position for some time, and wants to return to journalism.” He plans to “found a content marketing agency” (MEDIA WEEK, 2/3). ... Former Red Bull and Jaguar Chief Designer ROB TAYLOR is to head up the design of Haas's new Formula 1 car. Although the construction of its 2016 F1 challenger is "being overseen by Italian racing car maker Dallara, Haas has appointed Taylor as its chief designer to oversee the project." Taylor was at Jaguar Racing and "led the design of Red Bull's first F1 car before making a move to McLaren" (AUTOSPORT, 2/4).

QPR APPOINTS FERDINAND
: EPL side Queens Park Rangers has announced a restructuring of its coaching setup following the departure of HARRY REDKNAPP as manager, with LES FERDINAND named director of football. Ferdinand was on Monday placed in “caretaker charge of the first team,” alongside CHRIS RAMSEY and KEVIN BOND, when Redknapp resigned. Now QPR Chair TONY FERNANDES announced that Ferdinand’s role “has been redefined, with responsibility for the whole football department.” Former Tottenham coach TIM SHERWOOD, who worked alongside Ferdinand and Ramsey at White Hart Lane, is the favorite to succeed Redknapp (PA, 2/4).
