Super Bowl XLIX Attracts Record Viewership On German Free-TV Channel Sat.1

German free-to-air TV channel Sat.1 "recorded more than 1 million viewers for the broadcast of Super Bowl XLIX in the middle of the night," according to Manuel Weis of QUOTENMETER. Starting at 3am on Monday morning, the final minutes of the third quarter obtained a market share of 42.5%. The fourth quarter, which kicked off at 3:15am, had a market share of 45.1% in the target demographic 14-49. The New England Patriots' 28-24 win over the Seattle Seahawks attracted an audience of 1.09 million viewers. Sat.1's postgame coverage, which started shortly after 4am, obtained a 37.8% share. Super Bowl XLIX "was the highest rated Super Bowl ever in Germany" (QUOTENMETER, 2/3).
