Second Bundesliga side 1860 Munich "has parted ways" with Media Dir JÖRG SEEWALD "after only three months." The "reasons for the decision are not yet known." Club spokesperson LIL ZERCHER "will take over Seewald's responsibilities" (ABENDZEITUNG, 2/2). ... Spanish second division side Tenerife coach ÁLVARO CERVERA's tenure with the club "seems to have come to an end." The club is reportedly "negotiating the termination of his contract as both coach and one of two managers of Tenerife's sports department along with ALFONSO SERRANO." It "has not been ruled out that he could step down as coach but remain with the club in a different role within the sports department" (MARCA, 2/2). ... Former Dutch national field hockey coach PAUL VAN ASS was named the head coach of India's men's team. It ends "three months of uncertainty" after Australian TERRY WALSH quit under "controversial circumstances." New Zealand's ANTHONY THORNTON, 47, will replace NEIL HAWGOOD as coach of the women's senior team. Sources "privy to the development" said that both Van Ass and Thornton have been awarded three-year contracts through '18. India will host the 2018 Men's Hockey World Cup (PTI, 1/30). ... The FA has appointed NICK HUMBY as interim COO. Humby, who has previously worked with FA Chair GREG DYKE at Pearson Television and the Ambassador Theatre Group, carried out a similar role at the Lawn Tennis Association in '13-14. He will work alongside Dyke and the FA's senior management team while the FA recruits a new CEO to replace ALEX HORNE (FA). ... League Championship side Nottingham Forest CEO PAUL FAULKNER has resigned less than 24 hours after STUART PEARCE was sacked as manager. Faulkner had "only been in the role for five months, having officially taken over" at the start of September. The former Aston Villa CEO has been placed on "gardening leave," but the club has yet to confirm his exit (BBC, 2/2).
