More Than 500,000 Viewers Watch Germany-Qatar Quarterfinal Match On Sky

German pay-TV network Sky Deutschland "recorded more than half a million viewers for its broadcast of the handball world championship quarterfinal match between Germany and Qatar," according to Fabian Riedner of QUOTENMETER. The pregame coverage, which started at 3:30pm on Sky Sport HD1, attracted 110,000 viewers on Wednesday. The show had a market share of 0.9% along with 1.1% in the target demographic 14-49. The match itself obtained a market share of 3.6% as 560,000 viewers tuned in. In the target demographic, Qatar's 26-24 victory was watched by 230,000 viewers and had a 4.6% share. Later in the evening, Sky "showed two more quarterfinal matches." The game between Denmark and Spain, which started at 7pm, attracted 80,000 viewers and obtained a market share of 0.3%, including 0.4% in the target demo. The quarterfinal between Slovenia and France, which aired on Sky Sport HD2, "had numbers so low resulting in zeros" (QUOTENMETER, 1/29).
