ZDF Attracts Millions To Coverage Of Sunday's Biathlon Races; CAF Draws On Eurosport

German public broadcaster ZDF "recorded top ratings for its broadcast of the biathlon on Sunday," according to Izman & Krei of DWDL. The broadcaster attracted an average audience of 4.7 million viewers for its coverage of the men's relay race, which started at 10:44am. The number translated into a market share of 33.6%. The women's relay race, which aired in the afternoon, was watched by 5.79 million viewers.

AFRICAN EVENT: Pan-European sports channel Eurosport attracted 240,000 viewers for its broadcast of the Africa Cup of Nations matchup between Equatorial Guinea and Gabon. The game, which started at 6:36pm, obtained a market share of 0.7%. In the target demographic 14-49, Equatorial Guinea's 2-0 victory had a market share of 1%.

GERMAN HOOPS: German sports network Sport1 recorded only 50,000 viewers to its broadcast of the Basketball Bundesliga game between Oldenburg and Göttingen. The game obtained a market share of 0.3% in the target demographic (DWDL, 1/26).
