Marketplace Roundup: Waitrose Donates $357,000 To England & Wales Cricket Trust

Supermarket Waitrose has donated £236,000 ($357,400) to the England & Wales Cricket Trust Small Grant Scheme to help more local cricket clubs improve their facilities. The fund had already been established with £500,000 ($757,300) from the England & Wales Cricket Board to help grassroots clubs. Waitrose made its donation as part of its sponsorship of England Cricket (Waitrose). ... Everton's official charity's Medicash Powered Wheelchair football team -- which this season is competing in its first ever National League campaign -- agreed to a £1,500 ($2,270) deal with the James Greenop Foundation in late '14. This will allow for more funds for training and equipment for the side, which also competes in the North West Powered Wheelchair League at Liverpool's Greenbank Sports Academy (Everton). ... Premiership rugby side Bath Rugby and agency Two Circles have joined forces in a three-year partnership. Two Circles will be helping Bath to improve customer engagement (Bath Rugby). ... German second division basketball club Hamburg Towers agreed to a new partnership with beer brand König Pilsener. The three-year deal includes distribution rights at home games along with logo presence on the team's warm-up shirts and on LED boards. The deal was brokered by UFA Sports (Hamburg Towers).
