Marketplace Roundup: German Handball Federation Partners With Luggage Producer Titan

The German Handball Federation (DHB) teamed up with Hamburg-based luggage producer Titan to become the federation's official supplier of travel luggage. As part of the deal, men's national team players will use Titan suitcases on all trips. In addition, Titan plans social media activities along with sweepstakes. The luggage company will also receive ad presence at national team games. The initial one-year partnership was brokered by Sportfive (DHB). ... Swedish football club Halmstad players have "questioned the design of the club's new away kit," with defender Jesper Westerberg tweeting, "Are you joking?" after being handed the neon yellow and green shirt by the club's kitman. Fotbollskanalen reported he also tweeted, "Something seems to have gone seriously wrong at the design department at Puma," but that tweet "now seems to have been deleted" (London GUARDIAN, 1/12). ... Indian Premier League side Kings XI Punjab named telecom HTC an official principal sponsor. HTC will occupy the right chest position on Kings XI Punjab's playing jersey. The Kings XI Punjab-HTC partnership has been stitched together by marketing agency Creatigies Communication (FINANCIAL EXPRESS, 1/8).

MITHRA SPONSORS CLUB BRUGGE: Mithra Pharmaceuticals became a sponsor of Belgian Pro League side Club Brugge for the rest of season. The Belgian company, "which specializes in producing treatments for women's health," will have its logo displayed on the sleeves of the club's playing jerseys until June 30. The financial terms of the deal, which will also be marked by further increased activities from Mithra Pharmaceuticals, "were not released" (SOCCEREX, 1/12). ... Ligue 1 side AS Monaco has named Orezza "as a new official club supplier" for the '14-15 season. Orezza mineral water "will be supplied to the players to accompany their performance throughout this period" (SOCCEREX, 1/12). ... Photos have "appeared on social media of what appears to be" the new '15 livery for Prodrive Racing Australia's Pepsi Max-backed Fords. The livery, adorning a 2015-spec Ford Falcon FG X, "appears on point-of-sale advertising spotted in a Foodland supermarket in South Australia over the weekend." The colors mark a "slight departure from their predominantly blue and black hues of recent years, with the livery featuring a splash of red at the tail of the car with matching red rear wheels" (FOX SPORTS, 1/12). ... Fantasy sports platform developers and marketers Mondogoal announced the addition of Barcelona as a team partner. The Catalan club is the first La Liga club partner for Mondogoal (Mondogoal).

NBC Olympics’ Molly Solomon, ESPN’s P.K. Subban, the Masters and more
